Can malaria be transmitted from person to person?

Malaria cannot be directly transmitted from person to person through casual contact. It requires the bite of an infected mosquito to transmit the parasite. However, in rare cases, transmission can occur through blood transfusions, organ transplantation, or the sharing of contaminated needles.

Can mosquitoes other than Anopheles mosquitoes transmit malaria?

No, only female Anopheles mosquitoes can transmit malaria. Other species of mosquitoes do not carry the Plasmodium parasite and, therefore, cannot transmit the disease.
