Clove oil is extracted from the dry flower buds of clove. Clove is an immature flower bud of a clove plant. Clove is a spice used in cooking as well as for preparing the medicine. Clove is native to the Maluku islands in Indonesia. Clove and clove oil have anesthetic, antimicrobial, anti-fungal, antiseptic, antiviral, antibacterial and stimulating properties.

The color of clove oil is depending upon the processing of manufacturing, from pale yellow to golden brown. Clove oil has a spicy fragrance and commonly used as a fragrance and flavoring agent. Clove oil has many nutrient substances like phenylpropanoids and eugenol. Clove oil also has bioactive compounds such as thymol, carvacrol, and cinnamaldehyde. Clove oil is also the richest source of antioxidants.

Bleeding disorder: Clove oil is work as a natural blood thinner and also interfere in blood clotting so if someone suffering from the bleeding disorder, do not take clove oil it can prove fatal. 

Diabetes: Clove oil can lower blood sugar so if someone who suffers from diabetes and already taken medicine, do not consume clove oil without guidance of a medical practitioner. 

Surgery: Clove oil might prolong bleeding. So stop taking clove oil at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery. 

Allergy: clove oil in excessive amounts can produce allergy due to the eugenol.

Selection 

Select the oil that can full of nutrients. During choosing of oil also look for the color of oil, the odor of oil and the quality of oil as well as content present in the oil.   

Always buy oil at the supermarket where the good and fresh quality is available. 

Storage 

Store the oil in a clean, dry and airtight container. Keep in a cool and dry place away from humid weather.
