What is SGOT and SGPT ratio?

SGOT (Serum Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase), also known as AST, and SGPT (Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase), also known as ALT, are two liver enzymes commonly measured in blood tests. There is no specific ratio between SGOT and SGPT. Instead, the individual values of these enzymes are evaluated together to assess liver health, determine liver damage, or identify specific liver conditions. Interpreting the results involves considering the absolute levels of SGOT and SGPT, as well as their ratio, in conjunction with other clinical information.
