Can hives be cured permanently?

While hives can be treated and managed, it is not always possible to cure them permanently.

In many cases, hives are caused by an allergic reaction or a viral infection, and the hives will go away on their own once the underlying cause is resolved. In other cases, hives may be chronic and recur frequently, or may be caused by an underlying medical condition such as an autoimmune disorder, which will require ongoing treatment.
